A myth can be a story featuring supernatural beings, fictional actions and collective fantasies. Otherwise, it is simply what is imaginary, devoid of value and reality. These are the myths of this second description on the consumption of tap water that we will try to clarify later. (Because we do not know of any myth on this subject compared to the first description).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Tap water is not good for your health:<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Water in France is subject to several analytical controls of its physical, chemical and microbiological characteristics that guarantee its quality and safety for our consumption. According to the Water Information Center, Cieau, there are several disinfection methods: ultraviolet disinfection, ozonation, chlorination, (and other \u201ction\u201d) which in fact eliminate all viruses. So, no, you are not going to catch Covid by drinking water from the distribution network. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes, it is true that water is not the same in all regions of the country, but before systematically buying a bottle of water in a supermarket at a high economic and environmental price, you can find out a little about the quality of the water with the inhabitants of your city. If you are not too talkative, you can find information on the quality of tap water on different websites, whether it isassociations<\/a>, or sites of the government<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 Tap water can be contaminated by water that has already been used:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

And no, jamy! Wastewater treatment and drinking water production are done in two separate plants. The water we consume comes from nature, both from groundwater and surface sources. But not all water found in nature is drinkable, which is why it must go through a process before reaching our taps. If it reassures you, the standards for the monitoring process that governs tap water were set by the French public authorities and the European Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Keep in mind that just because some bottles have a mountain on their label doesn't mean they come directly from a spring. In many cases, the water you're being sold as if it were distilled from the sky itself, actually comes from the tap.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u2013 I can buy bottled water without any problem, I can recycle it afterwards:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Yes but no. Only 26% of plastics are recycled in France. The fact that 75% of waste in the sea is plastic (according to the Ministry of Ecological and Inclusive Transition) shows us that even if recycling is good in itself, it sometimes makes us feel less guilty. The rhyme is beautiful, the facts not so much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Ficha, we believe that everything has a sustainable alternative, in this case, a stainless steel or glass bottle (the only material that can be recycled infinitely). If you are still hesitant to drink tap water, you can follow natural processes that will allow you to stop buying bottled water (and save money while doing so, of course).
