You've probably already heard about the circular economy, the anti-waste law and the ecology rules that concern them. And well, as our consumption increases, so do these rules, so if you are one of those who stayed in the first 3Rs (Refuse, Reduce, Reuse), let us tell you that there are 2 more: recycle and (r)compost (or “burp” in English). Do you think 5Rs is too much? Sorry, we will add another one at the end of the article, you will see that it is worth implementing.
Don't be afraid of the word " ruler »
The 5Rs are nothing more than actions that we can follow in our daily lives, and unlike many rules, these actions are very easy to apply. Here we present them to you:
- Refuse :
Even if you are afraid to go to your bank account and it is at zero, you can find the expenses you have made, the purchase receipts are therefore not so necessary to organize your finances. Same for the bags. The fabric ones are beautiful and sturdy, unlike the plastic bags which do not resist a corner of yogurt.
- Reduce:
This is perhaps the most personal of the 5Rs, it’s up to you to stop buying what you don’t need, so you can choose to buy “zero waste” products. But “reducing” doesn’t end there. Your long shower concerts can also be reduced. If you can’t go to the bathroom without music (like us), you can keep in mind that “Sweet Child O’ Mine” and “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” are the perfect length for taking a shower, about 5 minutes. Next time, don’t hesitate to race your music player!
– Reuse:
Maybe you already know that your internet searches will result in a large amount of personalized ads every time you surf social networks or do any other search. And yes, we are immersed in consumerism, but you don't need to buy a new watch as soon as it stops working. The next time this happens, you can ask your friends how to fix it, or ask them where to find a watchmaker. If you don't like people and you don't have any friends, you can always find sites on the internet (link to fr.ifixit.com) that offer tutorials on how to fix the watch your grandfather gave you.

– Recycle:
By following these last three rules, this step should be considerably reduced, however, each year in France, there are nearly 200 million plastic bottles end up in nature. We don't want your bellepou to always be full, obviously the goal is to reduce our waste, however, the next time you want a soda in the street, don't forget to sort the bottle well afterwards.
– Compost:
This also applies to our organic waste. It's crazy, but the skins of your clementines can become the perfect fertilizer for your own vegetable garden. An activity that has actually grown a lot in the last year, thank you Mister Covid.

Finally, we would add another R: revolt. No, no, we don't all have to go to the Élysée Palace, we can start with our daily lives (by reading this article for example). Did you know that since January 1st of this year a law plans to set up recycling bins in large and small supermarkets? Beyond being a good way to get rid of unnecessary packaging, these bins are a perfect tool to tell producers and distributors that bananas do not need to be wrapped in plastic!
